About Us
Founded in 2009, Public Libraries Western Australia (PLWA) is the peak advocacy body for Western Australia’s 234 public libraries.
We collaborate with Local, State, and Federal government bodies and professional associations to advocate for the interests of all public libraries in WA, advising on policy decisions and promoting the value and importance of public libraries for leisure, pleasure, and inspiration.
In addition to setting strategic directions for public library services, PLWA facilitates continuing education, professional development, and networking opportunities for members.
Membership of PLWA is open to any Local Government library service. Affiliate and student memberships are also available.
